Installation Instructions

Review before install:

All Substrates must be structurally sound and free from movement or deflection. Subfloor must be dry solid, clean and free of wax, paint, oil, debris, and any other defects.

Check for excessive moisture in various areas before installation referring to flooring manufacturer's recommendations.

Concrete subfloors moisture test - not be greater than 3 Lbs. with a calcium chloride reading, not be greater than 75% from a relative humidity (in situ RH) reading, and not be greater than 2.5% from a calcium carbide (CM) rating.

Please review your chosen floating wood flooring Installation Instructions, and meet local building codes and other specific jobsite and subflooring requirements.

Install Instructions: 5 Step Easy Installation Guide

1. Clean subfloor checking to make sure it is clear of any debris including nails (leftover from carpet strips) by either sweeping or vacuuming.

2. From corner of the room start to roll out underlayment with aluminum on the bottom and cut roll at the wall.

Radiant Heat: Install with aluminum foil on top for radiant heat and the recommended temperature is at or below 82° F.
Recommended to lay the underlayment in the opposite direction as you plan for your wood flooring.
Where Moisture is evident install a vapor barrier tape to seal all seams that are not sealed by Self Seal System. (Upgrade).Roll out a second roll of underlayment and butt the seams together with built-in Self-Seal Tape (do not overlap underlayment & remove white paper form tape strip (on plastic lip) and push down to adhere foam.

3. Tape underlayment seam (where ends of rolls meet) with a moisture resistant polyethylene tape. Silent Silver tape is available offering a wider tape width that allows for easier rolling and added moisture protection (Do not use duct tape, masking tape or any kind of tape as these will break down over time). Overlapping tape is not a problem but it is important to properly seal all the seams. Any rips or punctures can be sealed with the tape as well (Upgrade)

NOTE: When installing underlayment in basement or where a moisture barrier is re-quired, extend the underlayment 1"- 2" up the sides of all walls.

4. Continue installing the underlayment repeating steps 4-5 until floor is completed and your chosen wood flooring as per manufacturer's Installation.

5. Consult with your flooring specialist for additional instructions.
